Back to Basics

Shoulder Bag £9.99 Forever 21 // Sunglasses £? Next // White Linen Shirt £8 F&F at Tesco // Denim High Waist Shorts £28 Topshop // Birkenstock Sandals £65 Net-A-Porter
Back to Basics with this latest blog post. Once again it's very monochrome - a theme that keeps creeping up on me without me even realising it. The last week in England has actually been hot and sunny for once which always takes me by surprise and I never have any nice summer clothes ready for the outburst we occasionally get. However, my newest acquisition is a pair of Birkenstocks which have come in very handy in this weather. Although everyone now seems to have a pair they are super comfy and slot in nicely with pretty much every outfit possible so even though I'm being a sheep they're definitely worth it! Net-A-Porter did lie when selling me them because it said they are true to fit sizes but I personally disagree as they came up really big so I now have them on the tightest setting. The shirt was a great find in Tesco, reduced from £12 to £8 and it is a really nice thick linen material. Paired up with some classic high waist denim shorts from Topshop (which I got last year but they will never get old), a woven shoulder bag with gold edging and some wayfarer style cheap sunnies I think it makes a really relaxed but smart look ready for summer! It's the kind of outfit you can just throw together because it's really basic but looks effortless. Fingers crossed the sunshine lasts because I can't afford another holiday!

Disco

T-Shirt £6 Primark //Disco Leggings £7.99 Missguided // Croc Slip-Ons £20 Topshop

Going for a full on Disco look with this outfit. A combination of physchadelic colour print with black mesh inserts on the t-shirt and shiny high waisted disco leggings makes an easy to wear and eye catching outfit. The pictures don't really show the detail of the t-shirt very well but the black stripes are mesh adding in another texture. These Topshop slip-ons have probably been one of my best buys this year. I have worn them to death and should probably invest in some new ones soon. They're really comfy and go with pretty much any outfit as well as being suitable for wet weather which is a must in England!

Like a Mom

White Linen Shirt £7.99 H&M // Mom Jeans £13 Primark // Croc Slip-Ons £20 Topshop // Vintage Style Watch £14.99 Urban Outfitters // Grey Leather Bracelet £45 Pandora // Plait Belt £2 Primark

Been wanting some Mom jeans for a while but never got round to looking for some. I saw some nice ones in Topshop but after browsing other shops these came from Primark. They are pretty much identical to the Topshop ones I tried and I don't know if I will wear them that often so a £13 pair is more sensible than a £40 pair! The white slip-ons are back again in this post. Like I have mentioned before I wear them ALL the time so it's not surprising they keep popping up in posts. The linen shirt is a great basic to have. I wear it in all sorts of ways. Its quite long so goes over leggings or jeans or underneath a crop jumper with sleeves rolled up or left long. The watch and belt almost match and were both really cheap! I like this outfit because it's a bit different to the sort of things I usually wear. Trying to break out of your comfort zone is always hard no matter what the subject but especially in fashion. I'll keep trying to look a bit different and stand out from the crowd but for now this is my vague attempt.

Black is the new Black

Black Knitted Ribbed Turtle Neck Crop £6.99 New Look // White High Waisted Jeans £22.99 New Look // Belt £6.99 Dorothy Perkins // Jelly Sandals £8 Primark

Another monochrome outfit. So.. in my previous post with white high waisted jeans you probably noticed they were £34 from Miss Selfridge. On holiday I had an accident involving a cup of hot chocolate and those white jeans resulting in them going in the bin. Although I was pretty gutted (it was someone else who spilt it all over me) I have managed to find a new pair which were not only way cheaper but also fit better and aren't as see-through. This knitted crop is the newest addition to my crop top collection. Its a turtle neck and is ribbed. It's so soft and comfy and is slightly longer than a lot of my crop tops which I really like because I don't like having half my stomach on show, just a small glimpse is enough. The belt is a few years old now and is beginning to fall apart but I wear it loads and I will be sad when I have to throw it away so a replacement hunt is going on at the moment. Jelly shoes are the in thing at the moment for the summer months. I got this pair way back in March but I wish I had waited a bit now because I like the ones with a heel on better. Maybe I'll treat myself to a JUJU pair soon in a different colour.

Holiday Blues

Pixel Print Skater Skirt £19.99 New Look // Strapless Top £9.99 Miss Selfidge // Necklace £4 Primark
Turtle Neck Sparkly Crop £9.99 New Look // White Jeans £34 Miss Selfridge
Floral Bikini Bottoms £9 and Top £9 Dorothy Perkins
Tropical Crop £6.99 New Look // Lace Midi Skirt £12.99 H&M
Crochet Backless Dress £29.99 Zara

I haven't posted in a while but now I'm back from holiday in Turkey I'll try and get back into the swing of it all. So here's a few snaps from my time away. We went to Alanya in Turkey last year and there wasn't that much to do outside the hotel so this year we went to Marmaris and it was lovely. Although it was cloudy for the first few days I managed to get myself a bit of a tan in the last half of the week.. although it quickly disappeared once I was bad in England and I'm almost back to the colour of a ghost.

My favourite holiday purchase was definitely the white crochet backless dress from Zara. It only looks good with a tan but that's nothing a bit of Fake Bake can't fix back in England. Because of the back a bra isn't really an option but because of my non existent chest I can get away with it.

While I was over there I managed to get myself some cheeky fakes which I'm rather happy with. Spent about £250 and got myself two pandora charms, some converse, two perfumes, two watches and a Mulberry which is real leather and an AMAZING imitation. Not sure whether I should be admitting this really or trying to pull them off as real. (one day I WILL have a real Mulberry but for now this will make do!)
